Terms of Use

Last updated: 12 July 2026

By using KryVault you agree to these terms. They are written to be plain and short. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Your key is your responsibility

If you lose your key, your data is gone forever. We do not store your key and cannot reset it, recover it, or unlock your vault for you. This is the core design of the product, not a limitation we can work around.

Anyone who has your key can open your vault. Keep it safe and private — treat it like the only copy of a physical key to a locker.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use KryVault to store, share, or distribute:

The same applies to share links. You are responsible for what you share and who you share it with. Anyone can report a link through our contact page; we can disable a link and the file it points to. Note that anyone who holds a full link can open that one file, so a link sent to us with a report can be opened by us too.

Privacy is not a crime, and lawful private use is exactly what this service is for. But the protections here are not a shield for unlawful activity. Where a valid legal order identifies specific unlawful content, it will be removed.

Storage, quotas, and expiry

Free vaults include 100 MB of storage and stay active for 90 days, followed by a 30-day read-only grace period to download your data. Limits and plan details are shown on the site and may change over time. Paid plans, when available, extend storage and vault lifetime for the period you prepay.

Payments

Paid plans are one-time prepaid payments made from inside your vault, processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Prices are in US dollars; any local tax is shown at checkout. There is no auto-billing and no subscription that renews on its own — when the term you paid for ends, the vault simply returns to the free tier rules. We receive only the payment confirmation and a vault reference; your card or UPI details stay with the payment provider, and your files stay encrypted throughout. Prepaid amounts are generally non-refundable once the upgrade is applied, except where required by law.

Refunds and cancellations

Upgrades are one-time prepaid purchases applied to your vault immediately. Because the storage and term are delivered instantly, payments are non-refundable once the upgrade is applied, except where required by law. If you were charged and your vault did not upgrade, contact us with the payment id from your receipt (starts with pay_) — we will apply the upgrade or refund the payment in full. There is no subscription, so there is nothing to cancel: a plan simply ends when its prepaid term is over.

Service provided "as is"

We work to keep KryVault reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for loss of data caused by a lost key, your own device, or events beyond our reasonable control. Keep your own backups of anything important.

Suspension

We may remove content or restrict access where required by a valid legal order or to stop abuse of the service, to the limited extent our zero-knowledge design allows.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. Continued use of the service means you accept the current terms.
